A crowned goldsmith course

Result goldsmith course

A participant who was as passionate as she was talented booked bei uns At the turn of the year, a goldsmith course over a few days in order to finally fulfill a long-cherished wish: A small silver crown with valuable gemstones in it!

After she had already started a first attempt to realize this dream herself a few years ago, it unfortunately turned out that the silver sheet selected at the time could not receive the desired gemstone setting due to the insufficient material thickness. That's why she made the right decision to start the project from scratch with a more suitable sheet of silver.

After an intensive preliminary discussion, the time had finally come: the course participant visited us for her first day of the course in ours Studio with adjoining course room. Thanks to our Corona security concept she was able to enjoy her stay with us completely relaxed and without any restrictions.

First, the shape of the future crown was precisely sawn out of the silver sheet by our participant in this individual goldsmith course and then the crown, which she had bent into shape, was soldered and cleaned at the resulting seam. Finally, she made the sockets for the grenade and placed them on the prepared openings in the crown and soldered them.

Our course participant also provided the precious stones herself: Precious Garnet, Emeralds, dark and light Sapphires - even real ones brilliants should be used for the crown. After all, the result should be really royal in the end.

The diamonds, sapphires and emeralds should be "rubbed" directly into the crown - i.e. without an additional setting. This is what setting the gemstones by pressing the material against the gemstone is called. However, this work – and grasping the large grenade – requires some experience, which is why she was happy to delegate this work to us.

After all the gemstones had been set in our studio, our participant in the goldsmith course was finally able to pick up her finished silver crown from us. We even took the liberty of not sending her a photo of the finished crown in advance - that was the only way to enjoy it the most intensely when she was able to hold her self-made masterpiece in her hands for the first time in all its glory.

The effect was as expected: Our course participant was overjoyed and very satisfied with her self-made gemstone crown and therefore proudly carried it home. And we were inspired by the fact that we were able to support her in realizing her heart's desire. The unusual goldsmith course will therefore remain in our memories for a long time to come.
