A goldsmith course for three generations

Goldsmith course for three generations

Although in the past I have often met several members of the same family in my goldsmith courses Although I was able to welcome everyone, today's course was not quite an everyday occurrence for me either: This time it was a goldsmith course for three generations.

It all started with a little comment from my youngest participant, who mentioned to her mother that her grandmother would have liked to be a goldsmith. Oops, thought the "middle one", surely something can be done about that!

No sooner said than done: After a short Google search, the solution was just a click away and so she booked a goldsmith course in my studio for all three Generations zusammen.

All three of them also quickly agreed on their expectations of such a course: at the end of the day, each of them should be able to call a silver ring they made themselves their own.

After the short, obligatory coordination at the beginning of the course day, I was finally able to fulfill a special request from my three course participants: each silver ring should also have a small diamond as additional decoration. I was also able to convince my youngest visitor to set her small gemstone in a specially made setting, as this would make it easier to adjust the ring to the budding teenager's fingers, which may still be growing, if necessary. For the two adults, the diamonds were to be "rubbed" directly into the ring bands they had designed.

Very soon after the course began, it became clear that I had three real "natural talents" in front of me. All the work steps were mastered with flying colors. But I was particularly impressed by the granddaughter's talent and patience. It was a pleasure to see how interested, highly concentrated and professional she was in carrying out all the work steps.

At the end of a relaxed, midsummer day in bright sunshine in my pleasantly cool classroom, all three participants proudly held their self-made silver rings - all with a beautiful and individual surface design and sparkling diamonds - in their hands.

What made this course day a particularly wonderful experience for me was the privilege of being able to experience the great harmony between these three generations so closely. I thank you all three from the bottom of my heart for that. It was simply wonderful to see!

I was obviously able to fulfill the expectations of my three visitors. The picture above certainly says a lot about the great mood with which all three of them said goodbye to me at the end of the goldsmithing course. I was particularly pleased with the feedback they gave me later:

"... thank you very much again for this wonderful and unforgettable day. The report is sooo beautiful. Loving and detailed and reflects the atmosphere of this special event exactly. We hope that we can take another course with you and send our warmest regards..."
