Our customer, who is as demanding as he is extraordinary patch of the "King Lionheart Coat" commissioned our studio now also with the production of a truly “royal” garment clasp for his remarkably elaborate tassel coat.
For this, the original seal of King Richard the Lionheart reproduced as exactly as possible on the left and right of the two parts of the robe clasp on the coat collar and connected there with a chain to close the coat. As a finish, the customer wanted a galvanic gilding in a rich and convincing gold tone made of 24ct fine gold.
After we had made two approximately 5 cm large and almost true to the original versions of the royal seal of Richard the Lionheart including the historical circulation in silver, an inner edge was soldered to the back of each, which in turn had holes for the stable sewing of the seal to the neck area of the tassel coat contains. Then the chain, which we also handcrafted especially for this purpose, was attached and the coat can later be opened or closed easily using a large snap hook.
As a last step, the galvanic gilding with a strong and stable layer of fine gold followed as desired.
In the meantime, the royal robe clasp is probably already on its way to our customer's robe tailor, who will add a fur collar and particularly fine embroidery to the elaborate velvet coat and tailor it especially for our customer.
Now we just keep our fingers crossed for our loyal and patient customer that his extremely remarkable costume will finally find his admirers as soon as possible in an event of the Rhenish carnival, as he had planned. He would have deserved it.
Addendum: In the meantime, our customer has also commissioned us to make a royal belt buckle and ornaments for a genuine leather sword belt. But more on that shortly......
