Family goldsmithing excursion on the volcano

After the exertions and hardships during the unspeakable corona pandemic, two families in quick succession used the long-awaited relaxation during the summer for a family outing together for goldsmithing here with us in the beautiful Vogelsberg volcanic region.

While one family arrived very comfortably, including an overnight stay, even in their own mobile home, a drive of several hours by car was no obstacle for the other group to spend a really pleasant and obviously extremely enjoyable time in my goldsmith course. Even the friendly family dog had enough opportunities on our premises to "sniff out" all the new details of our former farm that were so exciting for him.

Our Vogelsberg consists of a large number of extinct and partly overlapping volcanoes, which have slowly eroded over the course of the last seven million years after the end of their activity to form the gently sloping ranges of hills that exist today. In terms of tourism, the Vogelsberg is certainly still an insider tip for many. With us it is therefore far away from the tourist strongholds rather quiet and relaxed. Nevertheless, we can refer to several holiday apartments in our tranquil village, to a campsite in the neighboring community and to restaurants and hotels that are highly recommended in the vicinity.

Some notable destinations in the near and central area, such as this Museum in the Vorwerkwhich volcano, bird park, Hoherodskopf, Nidda reservoir or the Vogelsberg Lake District make our area, together with some castles and palaces worth visiting, the ideal destination for an entertaining family excursion into the countryside.

The results of both goldsmith courses were also more than impressive: Each individual member of the two families (except the dog 😉) was proud and happy to take home a self-designed and self-made ring at the end of the course day, which was of high quality and craftsmanship is in no way inferior to a purchased ring. And what could be nicer than something homemade. But the most important thing was certainly the wonderful time that the families could spend together here. In any case, according to their subsequent feedback, both families were apparently really enthusiastic and very happy about their short trip.

And I think the photos at the top of this post speak for themselves….
