Our magnificent primer in the exhibition “Europe on the move”

RLMB Europe on the move

On November 14.11.2018, XNUMX, the exhibition “Europe on the move – living environments in the early Middle Ages” opened. The exhibition can be seen in Bonn from November 15.11.2018, 25.8.2019 to August XNUMX, XNUMX.

The exhibition shows a surprisingly complex and multifaceted picture of the late antique and early medieval regions between Ireland and Spain in the west and Egypt and Hungary in the east. The epoch after the fall of the Western Roman Empire around the year 500 AD was not a "Dark Age" but was characterized by fascinating connections between the different worlds and an almost exuberant cultural diversity.

Of course we are particularly proud of that the magnificent fibula made by us is exhibited in its own holobox, in which the original find context of the original, the detailed Construction of the gold primer and the economic interdependencies in Europe are presented virtually for the production of such a primer.

Holobox with magnificent fibula

A holobox is a special high-tech showcase with an interactive hologram projector, in which the actual exhibit is presented and enriched with interactive hologram images and texts. This is probably the most exciting thing you can see in the larger museums as an object presentation at the moment.

The following photo shows an example of how the object presented below is enriched with a virtual hologram representation directly above it, which explains the stone trimming of the fibula in more detail:

The original - i.e. the magnificent fibula recovered as a burial gift - is presented right next to it in a separate display case in connection with all other original grave finds.

Of course, we are always particularly pleased when one of our properties is integrated into such an exciting and up-to-date form of presentation and presented in such a professional manner. Our very special thanks therefore go to the organizers of the exhibition in the LVR LandesMuseum Bonn.

In any case, this presentation means for us the current highlight of the cooperation with the LVR LandesMuseum Bonn - if you consider that at the same time and only two floors higher our magnificent gemstone binding in the special exhibition "Knights and castles" will be shown.
