Replicas of Franconian eagle fibulae

In early summer 2015 I was allowed to buy some replicas of Franconian eagle fibulae for the museum shop of the LVR LandesMuseum in Bonn make.

An primer is a garment clasp (similar to a pin) with which parts of clothing could be held together from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages.

An original find from the museum depot of the LVR LandesMuseum should serve as a model.

The original fibula was molded, cast in 925/- silver, partially gilded and then provided with an almandine, which the Gem cutter Harald Heinrich grinded extra for it.

In coordination with the responsible archaeologist of the museum, 3 fibulae were to be made in silver / silver-gold-plated and each as a pin or additionally as a pendant.

Since then, the eagle primers have been marketed in the museum shop of the LVR LandesMuseum in Bonn.
