Six happy and visibly satisfied course participants and six truly remarkable and elaborate pieces of jewelry - that is the result of the "Creative Workshop Goldsmithing", which I held for the second time on 18.1.2020 in volcano held in Scotland.
Two of the students were already in the first creative workshop in August 2019 with us and had already decided back then to take part in the next follow-up course. Some participants were already very experienced in the course and now wanted to deepen their skills.
The group of course participants was once again particularly harmonious. The atmosphere was very relaxed right from the start and everyone was able to fully concentrate on the implementation of their personal goldsmith project.
As always, dealing with the open soldering flame was of course particularly exciting for the course participants in this workshop and therefore attracted everyone's attention (see picture at the top). But the many sophisticated pieces of jewelery left plenty of room for testing a variety of other goldsmith techniques.
At the end of the creative workshop, the visibly proud “hobby goldsmiths” presented their thoroughly successful pieces of jewelry.
The “yield” of today’s goldsmithing course was certainly impressive: a silver fly agaric – inspired by a recent trip into nature by a course participant, a silver pendant with personal initials, a pair of hammered earrings in a silver/copper material mix and three wonderful rings (the delicate gemstone of one of the rings will be set by me afterwards) were taken home by the participants as their very own personal success from the course.
Hats off!
The special surprise for me came at the very end: The Vulkaneum in Schotten informed me during the course that the follow-up date in March 2020 is already fully booked.
But fortunately there is still my regular goldsmith courses, which I organize in my studio in Ulrichstein - very close to Schotten... 😉
