The first weekend course in the new studio

Goldsmith's weekend course in the new studio

The first weekend course took place last weekend in our new studio in Ulrichstein in the Vogelsberg district. Four women interested in jewelry – from North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and even from “distant” Lower Saxony – got together to turn their own jewelry ideas into reality. The participants could spend the night in a spacious holiday apartment in our beautiful town - just a few minutes' walk from the course room (Contact via Printerman in Ulrichstein).

The goals were quite ambitious: for example, a heavy bangle made of solid silver, a two-tone pendant in silver and gold with faceted topaz, a silver jewelry set consisting of a pendant and earrings with extravagantly cut teardrops made of lemon citrine and a silver ring whose Rock crystal with an unusual spiral cut was specially prepared by a gemstone cutter in the two-day weekend course.

Fortunately, we were able to complete all of our renovation and relocation work in the new studio space in the former stable building of our historic farmhouse in good time. For example, a new pedestal with extra built-in underfloor heating had to be installed around the course workstations and my professional roller and my beloved drawbench (bottom left in the picture) found their place in the new studio.

In this course, it was again amazing how quickly the four participants – only two of whom knew each other personally – became a harmonious team through their common hobby and had a lot of fun and joy in the time spent together.

The snacks provided, our new large tea bar and the lunch served certainly also helped - not to forget the Latte Macchiato afterwards - to this special feel-good atmosphere at 😉

As always, the participants in the weekend course could rely on my support for complicated manual tasks. I either demonstrated tasks that were too difficult or implemented them directly for the jewelry of the participants.

At the end of the weekend course, despite the storm approaching from the North Sea, all participants returned home happy and satisfied - with their beautiful pieces of jewelery in their luggage, which they had made themselves in just a single weekend.

The feedback from some participants after their return that same evening shows us that we have achieved our goals for this weekend course in the new studio:

“… I also had a lot of fun over the weekend. You have a very relaxed atmosphere and you feel completely at ease. I look forward to seeing you again. …”
